About West End Esher Cricket Club
The Club was formed in 1875 when the tradesmen of Esher Cricket Club split from the gentlemen of that club and moved to the common at West End. Cricket has been played on the green continuously since then, apart from a short break during the Second World War when the common was dug up for cultivation. Something our groundsman is convinced that several of our players are still trying to do today! We run two Saturday league teams in the Surrey County League in addition to a Sunday social team.
The Colts Section started in 2009 and has grown significantly with over 150 boys and girls from ages 6 to 16 regularly attending the Friday night coaching sessions on the green. We now operate with several Colts age group teams who are in a competitive league played on a Sunday morning.

In 2018 we were pleased to introduce cricket for girls. Girls’ cricket has increased in popularity and we aim to provide an opportunity for girls to play competitive cricket in a supportive and enjoyable environment. Training will take place on a Thursday evening and we are welcoming new and existing members between the ages of 12 and 16.
